Origins of Feng Shui

The Origins of Feng Shui - From China To New York

The origins of Feng Shui date back to over 3000 years ago in ancient China. The Chinese sages of that time, through observation, saw that there was an energy force that moved all existence and they called Chi.

This energy force fed and benefited the people, nature and the environment in general. They also saw that this energy force due to the characteristics of the environment, colors, shapes, arrangement of things, etc.,  could be transformed into negative energy or Sha Chi, very unfavorably affecting individuals and the actions they undertook in their lives. Feng Shui is the art or science that studies how energies move, how they behave, and how they affect humans.

The Feng Shui of New York City

Today, 3000 years later, here in New York and just about every where else in the western world, we have learned to ignore the presence of the energies in the environment. It is a grave mistake to think that our lives are not affected by this energy in which we are immersed, and connects us with nature, the environment or space with other living things .

The modern world around us, keeps us from feeling or perceiving these energies: environmental pollution, electrical, electromagnetic equipment, televisions and computers inhibit our ability to feel. But despite this, all we know and many still feel that there are places nicer than other places where we like to be… in peace, harmony, relaxed, reading a book or just resting and there are other places where we are restless, nervous and we do not like.

Here the Feng Shui plays a very important role because it is a great help to humans. Through Feng Shui, we can strengthen what was already our intuition tells us naturally. It gives an answer to our questions, and our concerns when we feel or perceive that something in a space we do not like.

The places where we stay long hours (like our house), reflect like a mirror, our unconscious and our inner world and the various aspects that are part of our life as, for example, our economic prosperity and our work.

When we look around us and study in detail our home, which is our most intimate space, we will start to notice aspects of our selves that we may not notice under normal every day circumstances. When we place an object into a corner, or place a piece of furniture, a lamp, or picture, we are doing it either consciously or unconsciously and show our inside to the outside world.

Although the houses are pretty identical in structure and construction, each inhabitant transforms through decoration, placing your furniture, colors, shapes, different objects, expressing your personality and your thoughts. That's what studying Feng Shui is about.

The Feng Shui specialist detects where there is discord or disharmony in the environment and then makes subtle adjustments by rearranging objects to achieve the correct balance, spacial relationship, thus reflecting and impacting the inner balance of the person in a mutual and constant interaction between the two.

Once the person achieves harmony and balance in their home, they achieve harmony and balance within themselves and consequently in their life. Typically specific areas of their begin to experience change for the better… relationships with others, health, work, economics, etc.

Each room of our house is like a picture of who we are. A Feng Shui specialist interprets that picture, helping the person to understand and interpret it too "Every room of our house that belongs to us, is like a snapshot of who we are."

The bedroom of our teenage son or daughter for example, the arrangement of furniture, objects, colors, the posters on the walls, etc., is not talking to us about his personality, the moment that is living? If there is a blockage or stagnation in this space, it will reflect the same blockages in your life that are simply a mirror of your inner world.

If there is chaos and disorder, we may observe a chaotic and lost personality. Reorganizing his little world, his bedroom, and the proper way will enable the individual to experience themselves in a different way, helping you achieve your most cherished goals.

The advice of an expert in Feng Shui, is nothing more than a little push or help to interpret what we know in our heart of hearts, but fail sometimes to understand, or find out for ourselves. It is a help, in a very specific moment in which we need to put order in our space, and therefore in our lives.

The Feng Shui expert can feel and sense the energy vibrations of objects or furniture, a lamp, a floor or table, and colors. Then by placing objects in their proper and precise location, brings order and balance to the whole atmosphere and space.

This is the essence of an expert in this ancient and very accomplished art, which is called Feng Shui. From the Eastern world to the Western world, Feng Shui brings order, focus, clarity, warmth, richness and energy to help and benefit human beings from all walks of life.
